Music and Meaning: My Journey Through Song

Throughout my blogs, I explore the songs that resonate deeply with me and share their meanings through my perspective. Music, sound and its lyrics have a unique ability to touch our hearts, illuminate our souls, and can remind us of the emotions we sometimes struggle to express. It’s a powerful tool for reflection, connection, and healing, especially for those navigating the complexities of life.

Finding My Rhythm Again  

After spending years in a dysregulated state, I found myself feeling numb to the world around me. Music, once a source of joy, became just background noise—overstimulating and overwhelming. I rarely felt safe enough in my body to dance or enjoy the rhythm of life. But as I began to reconnect with myself, I discovered the magic of music and movement once again. I now find joy in shimmying in the kitchen, singing, and humming along to the melodies that resonate with my soul.


Songs as Reflections of Our Lives  

In my blog, I share my reflections on various songs that spark something within me, including the emotions they evoke and the lessons I’ve learned from them. This blog reflects my personal journey and the fresh perspectives I’ve gained along the way. I strive to share a variety of insights, while recognising that each of us comes from different backgrounds—our upbringing, experiences, health and traumas shape how we see the world. How we feel inside and our relationship with ourselves can greatly influence our perspectives. The state of our nervous system also affects how open we are to others’ views, reminding us that every perspective is valid in its own right.
